Lies about height in the celebrity world revealed.

Hi there Gossiper!

So I know its been a long time but I have been quiet busy with some work that I've been involved with lately.

Today I want to talk about the single most important thing in the modelling and possibly in the pageant world too: Height. It is a factor that growing amount of Nepali fashionista and pageant girls are starting to familiarize with. Today Gossip Girl will reveal the real heights of Nepali celebrities who have lied about their height to Nepali media. Here is the list:

Models:

Paramita Rana:
Claimed Height:5'6
Real Height: 5'5

Siwangi Pradhan:
Claimed Height:  5'6
Real Height: 5'5
Proof: Siwangi pradhan in between Riju 5'6 and Dibyata Vaidya 5'6
She is clearly wearing taller heels than both of them.

PS: Paramita and Siwangi are the same height you will know if you meet them in real life.

Asmee Shrestha:
Claimed height: 5'7
Real Height: 5'5.-5'6
Aastha Pokharel (5'9.5) on far left in flats and Asmee Shrestha on her right with 4 inch heels (at least) but they are the same height.

Celebrities:

Malvika Subba:
Claimed height:5'6
Real Height:5'5.5
I have a soft spot for Malvika I must say but she is not a full 5'6. I think Miss Nepal probably rounded off her height for Miss World so I understand since its only a little bit.

Priyanka Karki
Claimed height: 5'6.5
Real height: 5'4.5-5'5

It says on Wikipedia that she is 5'6.5 but c'mon shes not even Miss Nepal 2011, Malina Joshi's height.

Miss Karki is barely 5'5 next to Malina Joshi 5'6.5
Thats it for now :)

If I find more proof of models and actresses lieing about height, i'll let you guys know.

I just want to say that I'm so happy that there are models like Oshima Banu who is completely honest  about her height. It makes me happy to see that she is honest about it and still managed to be immensely successful.

Miss Nepal: Expectation VS Result.

Left:Rojisha Shahi Thakuri, Middle: Ishani Shrestha, Right: Shiritima Shah

Samsung Galaxy launch.

When Miss Ishani Shrestha was first crowned I was shocked. Absolutely shocked as to why they would choose Ishani after our goddess of a queen Shristi Shrestha. During the top 10 I was almost sure the top 5 was:

1) Riju Shrestha: She had a good answer and she is stunning!Great smile which goes a long way in pageants. Just as tall as the other contestants.
Stunning featured Riju Shrestha, that JAWLINE!<3

2) Rojisha Shahi Thakuri: Tall (5'10) and a good face, good answers.
While her face is usually baby faced in this picture she looks like a Brazilian Bomb Shell

3) Shritima Shah: I knew she was the judges favourite. From day 1, Miss Nepal judges will always choose a smart well poised girl from an upper middle class family as Miss International Nepal. However visually they might not be the best. (Subexchya in comparison to Nagma and Shristi)
Shritima in traditional wear at Miss Nepal 2013 live.

4) Sumee Moktan: Of course they would choose Sumee since she was popular among fans. She had a typical cookie cutter answer and lacked genuineness in her answers  (although she tried it sounded too Miss America 1990s pageant type) but I knew she would be top 5. She flew all the way from US after all.
Sumee Mokatan wearing Swornim collections blouse!
                                                       price: rs 7000

5) Sipora Gurung: Nepal's sweetheart volleyball player who almost made it. Her answers was her biggest fall back. Also I felt she had still not stripped away her athletic to fully grow into a beauty queen.
She is 5'9 this picture makes her look very short :/

I was shocked when they announced Ishani in the Top 5 which was totally unexpected. As the Top 5 progressed I slowly got myself together and tried to predict the Top 3 from the Top 5. My result based on the fact that I heard the contest was rigged was: Miss world Nepal Sipora Gurung (only because I heard it was rigged), Miss Earth Nepal- Rojisha Shahi and Miss International- Shritima Shah (Even though I am not a big fan of her look, she is a smart girl with a lot of confidence).

Fast forward Ishani was crowned I was happy that at-least Rojisha got earth but devastated at the sight of our new winner. Then a funny thing happened, right after a month or two I slowly starting liking Ishani and Shiritima more than Rojisha! The thing is when you first look, you always look for the beauty and height and so on. It should count to a certain extent but I really started to feel as though Ishani and Shiritima both were 'good enough' for the title. At least they were not below 5'7  and their faces were transformable if given the right makeover. What I really liked was how Calm, collected and well mannered both Ishani and Shiritima were compared to Rojisha. Honestly if you are going to participate in Miss Nepal remember there is only so much that makeup and hair can do (alot in most cases haha!) but most importantly attitude! Attitude is what takes you far, the right kind of attitude. The kind of attitude that is genuine not fake! At the same time genuine in a way that is poised and self controlled. Think more Nagma Shrestha and less Rojisha Shahi. All in all I am happy with their character and self developmental hard work!

As the months progressed you can clearly see how even Shiritima has been hard at work improving her look and weight. She has lost close to 40 kg now since her initial selection in the Miss Nepal pageant. In the finale she was 30kgs lighter and looked absolutely stunning on stage. Even in her candid pictures you can see her moving from a slightly over-weight girl with a very flat face and morphed into a gorgeous beauty slowly  with polish, class and good style.

Ishani shrestha quiet honestly had an advantage being from the U.S as her style was already pretty modern and polished. As the contest went on her smile and walk was simply eye catching. You could tell she worked very hard to stay poised as demonstrated in this video taken before the Finale night:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJa6A0-Iw2Q
You can see how she clearly stands out among the others! Even Sumee's striking bright orange hair and fair skin could not compare with Ishani's confidence and glow.

The moral of this article: If you were chosen in the top 20 to compete in Miss Nepal it is your attitude that will take you far! Even if you are not that good looking if you have the brains, the will power to work hard and to transform into a beauty queen you will surely grab the top 3 tittle! Extreme hard work and research always pays off-minus the ego.

Rojisha Shahi- Miss Nepal Earth 2013 or Miss Nepal Earth 1990?

'Anish Shakya' Photography in nearly every of her pics
Aastha Pokherel's ex seduces Miss Earth ;)

The first fashion culprit of 2012 has to also be the one with the most potential! When I first saw the crowning of Miss Nepal I was glad that Rojisha won Miss Earth. That is the position I would give her if I was judging as well. This is because besides having a good body and height, what Rojisha lacks is a WOW face and presence. I find her to be normal rather than a Miss Nepal. She walks with little grace and do not find her attitude to be elegant. As I was watching her interviews it was clear to me that she thought the crown of Miss Nepal World was naturally her's. This sense of self entitlement is extremely daft, just because you are tall does not mean you deserve the tittle. first of all although Rojisha's body SHAPE is nice her WEIGHT is not, she looks very heavy to compete internationally. Toning her body would go a long way. Second, like I said before Rojisha has a pretty enough face but it is nothing special as Shristi Shrestha or Nagma even. Another thing that gave Rojisha away was her child like behavior, kind of like that girl next door teenager type attitude towards everything. There was no grace in the way she spoke or maturity. While I agree that she does seem more focused on her studies that does not necessarily make you mature or graceful. I get that a young middle class girl who was just introduced to fame might feel overwhelmed and excited, however I urge Rojisha to keep her naive attitude at bay. Here is why:
- Kathmandu is a small place with ALOT of Bokas trust me sweety. And you are fresh of the market all the models have already gotten their exposure but you are new. So every celebrities ex boyfriend, the  rich guys, the guys who are in the 'loop' will obviously want to date a Miss Nepal. It improves their image so who wouldn't right?. As a women that claims to be smart, independent and entrepreneurial your first downfall is falling for those guys who like a women based on their popularity...a trophy girlfriend.

Besides the rags to riches nativity, which to be honest was just a suggestion. What I really find disappointing is her sense of style and poor make up skills. In chiso haat nyano maya Ishani Shrestha looked like a real Miss Nepal. She stood in formal clothing, hair straightened and looked very polished, on the other hand Rojisha was in her shorts and a T-shirt. No hair done, No proper makeup, No sense of style or presence! If she walked passed me in the streets of Kathmandu with that on I would not even look back once.

Many of you might argue that 'It was just raising funds so its okay to look bleh'. Fine I will accept that as an excuse for her lack of polish. Now how do you explain the picture below? To a normal person it might look fine as an everyday party wear. This is clearly not enough for the 60th jubilee celebration of Mount Everest! Everyone who is anyone in KTM would be at such an event! Actually both Nagma and Rojisha are very poorly dressed. Rojisha is wearing a saree that I would wear at a Pooja or Holi it is not even wedding party type material. What she should have worn is a long RED gown that is fitted. This way it gives both a sense of beauty queen aura and tradition symbolized by every Nepali's favorite color red.
Nagma likewise looks like she is going to meet her friends for lunch at Durbar Marg! However, since she has gained weight recently I think it is acceptable for her to wear something less fitted.

Rojisha looks great when she is dressed by a designer but on her own she needs a little help and so does her makeup. Girl stop wearing foundation that's 2 shades lighter than your skin tone! The modern way to go is matching your foundation to your skin tone. There is nothing more attractive than a girl with even skin tone-whether its light or dark. Here is an example of why you should not wear foundation that is lighter than your skin tone. Clearly your hands and your face are two different colors! I have noticed this multiple times, not only with Rojisha but many other Miss Nepal participants such as: Sumi Moktan, Saddichya Shrestha, Even Ishani Shrestha at times. I hope you all know that international pageants prefer tanned skin.
In the end if Rojisha decides to improve these factors and the 90s view towards fashion she will go far in the Miss Earth pageant. If she decides to loose weight, wear foundation that matches her skin, show up to events polished, improves her posture and   becomes little more calm during her interviews she will place high in Miss Earth. If she chooses to ignore these shortcomings then I bid her farewell as she will just be another name that did not make an international mark in the long list of Miss Nepal's.

Gossip Girl Nepal- Mission Statement-xoxo

Hey there Gossiper ;)
This is Gossip Girl Nepal, your host to the latest in the new and booming fashion industry. All the latest gossip from Celebrities, Miss Nepal's and Models. Recent events concerning Rakshya Thapa who made that confession site and bashed Samriddhi Rai inspired me to start a blog. An Anonymous blog that does not bash people because they are jealous cows but because our beauty queens, models and celebrities some times need a healthy push to the right direction!
I will be commenting on public behaviour, style and attitude along with other essential behavior .

As Nepal develops so does the fashion industry however I still see many beauty queens dressed like Bollywood heroines from the 90s which is a major no-no.On top of that many celebrities with high ego's and bad attitude problems need to be kept in check.
We live in a society, no matter what you do in your personal life as a celebrity you better be at your best behaviour in public! Specially in small place like K-town, where news travels at the speed of light.

Take care everybody and watch out, you never know whose watching ;)
